The 1st Takai IVR Live Symposium (TIP)

 Greetings

I would like to extend my brief greetings on the occasion of holding the 1st Takai IVR Live Symposium (TIP).

This symposium has started because of my passionate will as a radiologist tackling interventional neuroradiology.
Currently, differ from foreign countries, there are very small number of radiologists who perform interventional neuroradiology in Japan, and we are possibly the last generation of the kind.
Therefore, I came to the thought that we must pass on interventional neuroradiology from a radiologist’s viewpoint across the boundary between medical departments. To be specific, these are diagnostic imaging, application of endovascular IVR technique, contrast medium, radiation exposure, etc.
I have started this symposium to introduce these viewpoints to as many younger generation doctors as possible.

This symposium is aiming for not a large number of attendees but attendees around 100 as an ideal because I am thinking of a small-sized live course in which all attendees discuss freely and energetically about interventional neuroradiology from educational point of view including basic techniques (puncture to hemostasis), diagnostic imaging and radiation exposure protection.
As the biggest characteristic of this symposium, we are aiming to hold high-quality discussions through live demonstration between expert doctors from departments involved in interventional neuroradiology; neurosurgery, neurology, interventional cardiology and radiology.

Although there are arguments both for and against live demonstration, there are many things only learned from it. In this symposium, we will perform procedures safe and in superior quality as much as possible based on opinions from expert doctors. I hope procedures in superior quality will bring discussions in superior quality and result in improving the treatment quality of interventional neuroradiology in future.

I would like to conclude my greetings by wishing the 1st Takai IVR Live Symposium (TIP) will be successful with your generous cooperation.
